Gyptian had the biggest hit out of Jamaica with is hit single "Hold You" a R&B influenced reggae track or Reggae Bop as I define it.

Popcaan break through the dancehall scene late 2009 and imerge as a major artist on the Vybz Kartel led Portmore Empire after the departure of Blak Ryno. In August Popcaan shoot a video for his hit song "Dream"
